As a HUD approved Housing Counseling Agency, the Empowerment Alliance offers foreclosure prevention counseling for homeowners. Counselors work with homeowners to determine if their loans can be refinanced or modified under various programs, including President Obama’s Making Home Affordable Plan which offers incentives to participating lenders for modifying loans rather than foreclosing on them.
The counseling is provided free of cost to the homeowners due to funding provided by HUD and Collier County for counseling. The only charge is the cost of the credit review.
